Week 1: Public Safety

As your candidate for Satsuma City Council, Place 2, I believe that strong public safety is the bedrock of a thriving, connected community. It’s more than just responding to emergencies, it’s about fostering a city where every resident feels protected, every day.

Growing up here in Satsuma, I felt that sense of safety. I walked our neighborhoods and played in our parks, all under the quiet comfort of knowing my community looked out for me. That’s the Satsuma I love, and that’s the Satsuma I’m committed to preserving and strengthening.

Our first responders are the unsung heroes who safeguard our city while we rest. Whether it’s a holiday or an ordinary day, they stand ready. They deserve more than just our gratitude; they deserve the right tools, fair staffing, and strong support from City Hall.

As your council representative, I’ll advocate for proactive safety measures through:

  • Smart budgeting that prioritizes essential services

  • Equipment upgrades where they’re needed most

  • Partnerships that strengthen trust between residents and responders

Public safety doesn’t begin and end with a siren. It starts with thoughtful planning, well-lit streets, maintained roads, and open lines of communication between citizens and leadership. That’s how we build not just a safer city, but a stronger one.

On days like today, when we celebrate freedom, faith, and family, it’s important to remember those who serve while we celebrate. Let’s never take for granted the first responders who spend their holidays in uniform so we can enjoy ours in peace.

Satsuma’s strength lies in its spirit.

What safety concerns are most important to you and your family?
